He was predeceased by: his wife Sharlotte Anne Lynn Newell; his parents, Wilbur Willard Newell and Modena Mae Wells Newell; and his son Jeffrey Dewayne Newell. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Stewart (Tom), Jamie Hammons (Todd), David Newell (Valerie) and Jay Newell of Eddyville, KY; his brother David Edward Newell (Pamela); his friend Barbara Fay Connor of Grand Rivers, KY; and his significant other Faye Connor of Grand Rivers, KY.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two nieces.
