He was predeceased by: his parents, David Francis Cotton, Sr. and Mary Lucille Freeman Cotton; his daughter Amanda Christine Cotton; his sister Rosella Whitsett; and his grandson James Henry Cotton-Imes.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte G. Cotton of Eddyville, KY; his daughter Nancy A. Fagan (Kevin) of Nicholson, GA; his brothers, Thomas G. Cotton (Kay) of Princeton, KY and David F. Cotton, Jr. of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Kasey Fagan Graham (Will), Samantha B. Fagan, Haley E. Sampson, Cole Fagan, Cameron Fagan and Jack Fagan; and his great grandchild Kai Sampson. He is also survived by two nieces and three nephews.
