He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Russell Barnett and Alice Lucille Lawrence Barnett; and his siblings, James Barnett and June Redd. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Fralicx Barnett; his daughters, Jennifier (Randy Wright) of Eddyville and Janet Barnett of Eddyville; his brother Charlie (Celina Barnett); and his grandchildren, Meagan Wright of Eddyville, Abigail Wright of Eddyville and Joshua Wright of Eddyville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
