He is survived by: his wife Janine (Gachuk); his children, Scott Schmitt (Shannon) and Sheila Eckstein (Chris); his grandsons, Branden Eckstein (Taylor), Seth Eckstein (Jessica) and Tyler Eckstein (Christy); his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Liam; and his siblings, Howard Schmitt, Nancy Gerber, Connie Schmitt, Alan Schmitt and Jane Ellis.
