He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Deaton and Hazel Maxine Baker Deaton; his wife Gladys Kathleen Combs Deaton; and his brothers, Wendell "Copperhead" Deaton and Paul Deaton.
He is survived by: his sons, Clifford Robinson of Clay City and Terry Byrd of Tennessee; and his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Deaton of Rogers, Kentucky, Ray Deaton of Rogers, Kentucky, Naomi King of Rogers, Louise Elam of Campton, Judy Risner of Middletown, Dianna Sproles of London, Debbie Landrum of Hazel Green, Brenda Creech of Pine Ridge, Pauline Bryant of Rogers and Glenda Sargent of Campton. He is also survived by five grandchildren; a host of step children and step grandchildren.
