She was predeceased by: her parents, Beckman Shields and Mary Etheleen Aylor Shields; her husband Jack Walls Armstrong; her daughter Ava Joyce Armstrong Pelley; and her brothers, Robert Shields, Donald Shields and Clinton "Tick" Shields.

She is survived by: her sons, Ken Armstrong (Tonja) and Robin Armstrong. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
