He was predeceased by: his former wife Anne Sanker Walton; and his parents, Noel Gaines and Gladys Moore Walton. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Taylor Walton; his children, David Walton Jr. (Ya Ling) and Melanie Walton Robertson (Fitzroy); his grandchildren, Gabriella Robertson, Olivia Robertson, Hope Walton and Emmanuel Walton; his sister Judy Belsley (David); his brothers-in-law, Harold Eugene Taylor II (Phyllis) and Charles Monroe Taylor; and his nieces and nephews, Harold Eugene Taylor III (Machelle), Rebecca Taylor Hudepohl (Hank), Karen Belsley Pratt (Lawrence) and Eric Belsley (Phoebe).

Due to COVID-19 masks will be required by all guests at the funeral home and cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Burlington Baptist Church, Boone County Library, or Hosparus of Louisville.
