He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonsus Lee and Opal Dowdy Lee; his grandson Robert Aaron Lee; and his siblings, Carolyn Carrico, Billy Lee, Ronnie "Cotton" Lee and Robert Eugene Lee.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Duke Lee; his children, Amanda Costello of Russellville, Kentucky, Robert Edward Lee (Mitzi) of Hickory and Paul Lee of Mayfield, Kentucky; his siblings, Faye Burgess (Ralph) of Green Valley, Illinois, Ben Lee (Janet) of Hickory and Jimmy Lee (Mona) of Fancy Farm; his grandchildren, Jordan Lee, Trey Costello and Deacon Costello; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Kingston and Karsyn Lee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
