He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Adkins and Hattie Adkins; and his siblings, Cecil Adkins, Robert Adkins, Joe Adkins, John Adkins, Kenneth Adkins, Kathleen Woodward and Rita Webb.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mays Adkins of Bardstown; his daughters, Sharon Adkins Bass (Bishop Timothy) of Louisville and Brenda Adkins Bewley (Rick) of Bardstown; his grandchildren, T. J. Bass (Amy), Brittnia Bewley, Bethany Wilkinson (Chris), Meagan Holt (Bryan) and Joseph Bass (Samantha); and his great grandchildren, Timmy Bass, Caleb Bass, Solomon Case, Harper Holt, Nathen Wilkinson, Wade Holt and Maddie Bass. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many spiritual sons.
