He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Staten and Betty Ruth Blair Staten. He is survived by: his sons, Gregory E. Staten, Jr. and Jesse Staten; his grandchildren, Samantha Ruffing, Courtney Staten, Emily Staten and Haylie DeLong; and his siblings, Darren Staten, Darryl Staten, David Staten and Jane BoCook. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
