He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lawson and Elizabeth Webb Lawson; his wife Deb Lawson; his sons, Wesley Edward Lawson and Donald Martin Lawson II; and his brother Ronald Lawson.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Ann Durham (Randal) of Hurricane, WV, Charles Lee Martin Lawson of Ashland, KY and Chandler Loren Lawson of Ashland, KY; his sister Connie Riffett of Ashland, KY; and his grandchildren, Darren Michael McComas, Melanie Elaine Smith and Mary Ann McComas.
