He was predeceased by: his father Eugene Helmstetter; and his son Luke Helmstetter. He is survived by: his mother Rose Helmstetter (Honer) of Denton, KS.; his wife Lucy; his sons, Erik Helmstetter (Laura) of Los Angeles, CA and Mark Helmstetter of Atchison, KS; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Helmstetter; his siblings, Tom, Jerry Helmstetter of Denton, KS, Janie Kennedy of Wichita, KS and Patty Meranda of Plano, TX; and his grandchildren, Aidan, Madison, Makenzie, Avery, Rose, Gene and Evan.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Benedicts Church, St. Benedicts Woman's Council and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
