He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Brecheisen and Hallie McCreight Brecheisen; his former wife Delores Jane Masenthin; and his siblings, Paul Brecheisen, Edrie Piemann and Maxine Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Tessendorf; his children, Rex Brecheisen of Lyndon, Ronda Higdon (Nelson) of Grandview and Rita Masenthin (Larry) of Lyndon; and his stepchildren, Mike Blossom (Brenda) of Bentondorf, Iowa and Deb Carter of Topeka. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
