He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Francis and Maxine Juanita Hughes (Odor); his wife Donna Lee Battersby; and his brothers, Robert, Ronald, Louis, Richard, Thomas, James and Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Koehn (Daniel), Donald Hughes, Jr. (Marcia), David Hughes (Jennifer) and Curtis Hughes (Jenny). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
