Smith and Betty Lou Morris Smith; his wife Carolyn Johnson; his son Chance Smith of Scott City; his siblings, Mike Smith of Scott City, Mark Smith, David Petty of Wichita, Marla (Randy Malin), Rhonda (Chuck Bauer) and JoAnn McLemore of Grand Junction; and his cousins, J. R., Garee Geist Smith of Scott City and Numerous. He is also survived by Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
