He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Chopp and Emma Chopp (McDow); his wife Bernice Chopp; his sister Shirley; and his brothers-in-law, Milton Slagle and Don Slagle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Birdsong (Ervin) of Turon, KS, Diana Chopp of Hutchinson and Misty Luthi (Darin) of Hillsboro; his close friend Margarett Tripp of Hillsboro; his sister Laura Marie Slagle of Belleville; and his grandson Jason Pennel of Topeka. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
