He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Lionel and Marcia Jean Ward (Wade); his former wife Theresa A. "Terry" Howe; and his brother Bart Ward. He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Robb (Dan) of Baldwin City, KS, Cora Martin (Nat) of Baldwin City, KS and Kristina Baldwin (Chris) of Lawrence; his stepdaughters, Lisa Rundell (Hugh) of Lawrence, Julie Hoffer (Rod) of Lawrence and Amy Gaines of Lawrence; his son-in-law John Gaines; his grandchildren, Orion, Amara, Paulina, Jubilee, Charlie, Hannah, Hope, Hunter, Riley and Ruby; his close friend Angelique Lair; his siblings, Marquita, Marsha and Kenny; his stepsister Tanya Dziak of Tonganoxie, KS; and his cousins, Sue Wright of Kansas City, MO and Jolene Harrod of Inman, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends.
