She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Thomas and Laveena Catherine Hosier Nockhold. She is survived by: her former husband Lawrence Richard Garman; her husband Harold Rutland; her children, Glenn Garman, Norman Garman, Ollie Sample, Mark Garman and Brenda Garman; and her sisters, Betty Nix and Dora Keffer. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
