He was predeceased by: his wife Ginny; his parents, Homer Fishback and Zelma Fishback; his siblings, Luther B. Fishback and Vesta Eshbaugh; and his nephew Homer Eshbaugh.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Anadel Wheeler of Phoenix, AZ; his nieces and nephews, Dottie Eshbaugh of Etowah, NC, Jill (Stanley Brown), Dee (Eric Bloomquist), Joe (Betty Fishback) and Jack (Julie Fishback); and his cousins, Pat and Mary Violett of Olathe, KS.
