It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Hess of Newton, Kansas, who passed away on October 6, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joan Hess and Decker; his children, Angela Schmidt (Luke) of Newton, Jason (Ghen), Chris Drouhard Winfield (Tammy) and John (June); and his sister Leslie Bibb (Ken). He was also cherished by many grandchildren, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations go to the Caring Hands Humane Society or the Newton YMCA.

“My deepest condolences to Jim's family. I met Jim almost 25 years ago at a robbery conference in Breckenridge Co. and we became instant friends. Even though living in different states we remained good friends throughout the years. We met several times in Las Vegas (Jim liked the craps table) and I visited Jim a few times in Thailand.
