He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clyde and Adra Mable Shinogle (Hoover); his siblings, Jack Shinogle, Nadine McGee, Twila Elstrom, Katherine Parks and LaVonne Malcom; and his granddaughters, Adra Jean and Dusty Rose Sullivan (Shinogle).
He is survived by: his wife Betty "Jean" Wideman; and his children, Steven Shinogle (Tracy), Shelby Shinogle Tasset, Barb Shinogle Ham and Cindy Nichols (David). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren.
