She was predeceased by: her parents, Elsie Matthews (Sheets) and Ralph Matthews; her husband James Edwin "Skinney" Van Meter; her children, JoAnn and David; her siblings, Jackie, Danny, Glen and Twila; and her grandson-in-law Matthew Picolet.
She is survived by: her children, Jeri Van Meter (Trace Kriegh) of Minneapolis and Russell Van Meter (Jana) of Ada; her grandchildren, Angela Oppenheim (David) of Minneapolis, Stephanie Teasley (Rick Longnecker) of Pottersville, Missouri, Benjamin Van Meter (Kasindra), Joshua Van Meter (Amanda) of Gig Harbor, Washington, Jessica Picolet of Tescott, Kansas and Crystal Vetter of Maine; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Ada Oppenheim, Kaylee, Johnna Picolet, Samantha Van Meter, Gwendolyn, Amelia Vetter and Annabelle Lockard. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In place of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ada Baptist Church, Ada Community Building, and Ada Alumni Association.
