He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick D. Thacker and Dorothy C. Thacker; his wife Dorothy B. Thacker; and his sons, Frederick Lee Thacker and Frank B. Thacker.

He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Thacker Patteson (Raymond) of Cypress, TX; his siblings, Joanne West of Roanoake, VA and Charles Thacker (Lupe) of Fulton, IL; his granddaughter Tara Thacker McConkey (Eric); his great grandchildren, Tristan and Duncan McConkey; his daughter-in-law Linda Orner Thacker of Shawnee, KS; and his close friend Elaine Saner.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes making remembrance to The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Foundation or The Alzheimer's Association.
