He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Eugene Durant and Mildred Irene Durant (McAllister); his siblings, Max Durant and Frances Durant; and his stepson Tom Hammerschmidt.
He is survived by: his spouses, Lillian Kaiser and Norma Durant of Medicine Lodge, KS; his sons, Robert Durant of Albuquerque, NM and Russell Durant of Pratt, KS; his stepdaughters, Kathy Larabee (Lonnie) of Fairview, KS, Cheryl Rausch (Joe) of Sharon, KS, Janet Duran (Jay) of Pretty Prairie, KS and Joanne Ingrassia (Ronnie) of Kansas City, MO; and his brothers, Lawrence Durant of Wellington, KS and Dwyre Durant of Houston, TX.
