She was predeceased by: her parents, Dean Heintz and Lois Heintz (Backlund); and her brother Vaughn Heintz. She is survived by: her husband Richard Burgess of Lyons, KS; her sons, Mickey Shannon (Valerie) of Goddard, KS and Rusty Shannon (Felicia) of Wichita, KS; her stepson Jay Burgess of Anchorage, AK; her sisters, Joan Petersen (Greg) of Newton, KS and Jean Cherrington (Jim) of Fairplay, CO; and her grandchildren, Obidiah and Ezra Shannon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice or Rice County Council on Aging in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
