He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milton Gillespie and Wilma Gillespie (Hopkins); his wife Linda Mae Woods; his children, Lygia Brice (Bob), Tony Schlapak and Jeffrey Woods (Sonja); and his extended family, Ruth Rose, Steve Rose, Jim Rose and Faye Flowers. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Appl Orchard Hospice or Northwest Baptist Church.
