It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alan Carl Swarts in Johnson, Kansas, born in Russell, Kansas, who passed away on May 13, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Eugene and Anita Marie Swarts (Webster). He is survived by: his wife Margene K. Zumbrunn; his pet Toto; his brother Christopher Swarts (Raye Ann) of Sulphur, LA; his sister-in-law Rayma Potter (Steve) of Long Lane, MO; his nephews, Aaron Swarts (Krystal) of Shawnee, KS, Adam Swarts (Brittany), Keaton Potter of Eudora, KS and Alex Potter (Alexandra) of Kansas City, KS; his niece Arrolyn Baker (Matthew) of Kansas City, KS; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Miller Swarts, Trey Potter (Kaleigh Bennefeld), Kasyn Baker, Remington Potter, Jayden Holroyd, Aila Swarts, Alexis Potter, Khali Potter and Anastasia Potter; and his uncles, Jerry Webster of Philadelphia, PA, Chester, Alvin Webster of Russell, KS and John Anderson of Osborne, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lawrence Humane Society, Visiting Nurses Association, Emporia State University Foundation or the charity of choice and may be sent in the care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. No services are planned at this time as his body has been donated to the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
