He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Dies and Hulda Dies (May); his wife Ruthann Dies; his son Derek Lofton; his grandson Jacob Lengerich; and his siblings, Victor Dies, Harry Dies, Helen Simon, Loretta King, Mildred Steinle and Betty Martens.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Dies of Newton, Ronald Lee Dies Jr. (Denaye) of Lehigh, Heather Lengerich (Matt) of Draper, Andrew Dies of Nacogdoches, Billy Dies (Robin) of Hillsboro and David Lofton (Angel) of Hillsboro; his siblings, Carol Wilkening of Lehigh and Robert Dies; and his grandchildren, Wyatt Dies, Samantha Lengerich, Tyler Lengerich, Mason Lofton and Tyler Lofton.
