With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alvena Bartel in Hillsboro, Kansas, who passed away on November 24, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Florentine Goossen (Ratzlaff) and John D. Goossen; her husband Wilbert N. Bartel; her granddaughter Emily Bartel; and her great grandchild Matthew Soldan.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy Soldan (David) of Manhattan, Janet Bartel of Manhattan, Wilbert K. "Sonny" Bartel (Franceen) of Hillsboro and Wilmer Bartel (Marilyn) of Hillsboro; her brother Alfred Goossen (Donna); her child Alvena; her grandchildren, Daryn Soldan (Melissa), Daniel Soldan (Traci), Diane Soldan Lautt (Steve), Josie Bartel Espada, Joe Bartel, Peter Bartel, John Bartel and Amy Bartel; and her great grandchildren, Alvena Mae "Alvy" Soldan, Molly, Walter, Elsie Soldan, June and Andrew Lautt. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Of interest, she had finished items for the 2020 county and state fairs, but these events were cancelled due to COVID-19.
