She was predeceased by: her parents, Leland Windmeyer and Genevieve Windmeyer (Dutton); the father of her children John Albert Simmons; and her brother Fred Windmeyer. She is survived by: her husband John Albert Simmons; her children, Melinda, Sarah, William Simmons, Allen Simmons (Jane) of Denton, Penny Peterson (Scott) of Douglasville, Georgia, Nancy Clary (Robin) of Troy and Chuck Simmons (Sandy) of Highland; and her sisters, Vicki Windmeyer of Pleasant Hill and Leanda May of Hiawatha. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
