He is survived by: his wife Katrina of Goddard; the mother of his children Rhonda Strain of Wichita; his mother Joyce Gough of Newton; his children, Garrett Strain (Shannon) of Wichita, Derek Strain of Wichita and Amy Ast of Wichita; his sisters, Tammie (Ken Hall) of Newton, Tracie Strain (Lynn Lalouette) of Newton, Terri Reimer of Newton and Erin McDaniel of Newton; his stepsiblings, Brenda McCourry of Newton, Cristie Likins of Newton, Traci Chiarelli of Grouton, Sandy Clark of Waskom, Texas, Doug Likins of Lawrence and Curt Gough of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; and his grandchildren, John Paul Strain III and Ember Strain.
