With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lavern Scheckel of Garnett, Kansas, born in Richmond, Kansas, who passed away on June 18, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scheckel and Mary Scheckel (Wolken); his wife Anna Belle Scheckel; and his siblings, Norbert, Gilbert, Charles, Ambrose and Berneice Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Scheckel (Lela) of Owasso, Cindy Molini (William) of Excelsior Springs, Roger Scheckel of Garnett, John Scheckel (Kathy) of Ottawa and Mary Lou Scheckel of Garnett; his grandchildren, Marisa, Melanie, Sarah, Caleb, Benjamin, Britta, Jenna and Regan; his great grandchild Mila; and his sisters, Mildred Schommer of Iola, Elsie Kratzberg of Greeley and Eva Vinton (Rick) of Chestertown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School and left in care of the funeral home.
