He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James M. Flinn and Etta May Flinn (Hermon); his wife Sharon Flinn; his children, Chad Flinn of Garnett, Angela Scheckel (David) of Richmond and Waylon Zwiener (Elvira) of Emporia, Kansas; and his sister Milda Caleb. He was also cherished by five nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
