He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester McLean and Ada McLean (Neosh); his son Merle McLean Jr (Bud); his grandson Martin Elder; and his siblings, Bob McLean and Barbara Malliot.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Roach; his daughter Lora Elder of Pioneer, CA; his stepson Eric Mallatt (Kelly); his siblings, Joe McLean of Baxter Springs, KS, Elvin McLean, Charlie McLean and Colleen Gandy; and his grandsons, Zack McLean, Michael Elder and Noah Mallatt.
