He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Eunice; and his siblings, Troy Newman, Sandy Carlson and Karen Saidai.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Newman, Shane Newman (Julie) of Laurie, MO, Ryan Newman (Karen) of Kansas City, KS, Dustin Newman (Allison Brown) of Joplin, MO, Lance Corporal John Newman (LCpl), Lisa Barker (Billy) of Miami, OK and Brandi Beck (Doug) of Galena; and his siblings, Roy "Bub" Newman (Shawyn) of Homosassa, FL, Mike Newman (Theresa) of Galena and Sharon Hamilton of Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
