He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrle Smith and Helen Allen Smith; and his brothers, Paul, Thomas, Everette and Jimmie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Pat" Foley; his children, Jeff Dwaine Smith of Sterling, KS and Laura Lea Landon (Jeff) of Kanopolis, KS; his sister-in-law Verna Smith of Hutchinson, KS; his grandchildren, Brandon Roach (Lacy), Breckyn Buggeln (Jed) of Ellsworth, KS, Brooke Callister (Zane) of Kansas City, KS, Bre Conn (Jesse) of Kansas City, MO, Micah Phillips (Carissa) of Sayre, OK and Billy Smith of Lyons, KS; and his stepgrandchildren, Kassy Phelan (Gunner) of Holyrood, KS and Kailee Greyling (Christo) of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Reformed Presbyterian Church or the The Pines in Ellsworth in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
