He was predeceased by: his parents, Burrell Symes and Marcella Hopper Symes; his daughter LaDon; his grandson Joseph Symes; his son-in-law Kenneth Wood; his brother Jerry Symes; his siblings-in-law, Peggye Symes, Laverna Stevens, Bonnie Schaffer, Bill Stevens, Bill Walcher, Keith Bell and Orand Miller; and his nephews, Jason, Bryce and Titus Schaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Symes; his children, Eugene Symes (Janet) and Melinda Wood; his granddaughters, Shannon Weir (Matthew), Shelby Jarnagin, Janna Nelson (Josh), Jamie Weeks (Eric), Jenna Loomis (Kyle) and Janessa Asher (Ryan); his brother Virgil Symes (Darlene); and his sisters-in-law, Arliss Walcher and Vonna Miller (Mike). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
