He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cooper and Mary Knight Cooper; his wife Lori Thornton Cooper; and his brothers, Robert Cooper, Vernon Cooper, Albert Cooper and Ronald Keith Paul.
He is survived by: his daughter Dina Cooper (Jason Hedden); and his siblings, Jack Cooper (Jo) and Mamie Knight. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
