He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Crooks and Viola B. Crooks; his wife Phyllis Sandefer; and his sister Susan. He is survived by: his former wife Doris Newby; his children, Carolyn (Randy), David, Charles (Lisa) and George (Teri); his grandchildren, Kate (Addison), Harry, Benjamin (Catherine) and Samantha (Will); his great grandchildren, Leena and Scarlet; his son Jonathan (Jane); his grandchildren, Alyx and Paige (Josh); and also, Christopher, William, Timothy, Matthew (Alex), Emersyn, Aubrey and Julia.
