He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley A. Smelser and Mary Jane Smelser (Graves). He is survived by: his wife Judy Smelser of Walton; his sons, Charley Alan Smelser (Lynne), Ernie Smelser (Nancy) and Daniel Smelser; his grandchildren, Amanda Verdusco, Samantha Scott (Shawn), Kayla Smelser and Michael Smelser; and his great grandchildren, Zach, Abby, Cora and Colton Scott.
