He was predeceased by: his parents, Thornton Bantam and Bessie L. Lay (Buck); his siblings, Lilly Mae Lay, Stanley Lay and Jesse Lay; his half-siblings, Raymond Lay and Datha Carman; and his brothers-in-law, John Cann and Fritz Sigmon.
He is survived by: his spouse Betty Sue Lay (Crawford) of Versailles, IN; his children, Richard and Renda Mills (John) of Quercus Grove, IN; his grandchild Rebekah Leppert; his great grandchildren, Eden Grace Leppert, Everest Saige Leppert, Eylah Sue Leppert, Jackson James Williams, Emma Kay Williams, Aria Lynn Williams, Kyler Lawrence Reagan, Diasy Brook Zarse and Kambrie Elyse Lay; his siblings, Carl Lay of East Enterprise, IN, Chester Lay (Mary) of East Enterprise, IN, Linda Cann of East Enterprise, IN, Carolyn Wright (Terry) of Milan, IN and Connie Sigmon of East Enterprise, IN; and his sister-in-law Henrietta Lay of Osgood, IN. He is also survived by his several nieces & nephews.
