He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Metcalf and Pearl Newsome Metcalf; his granddaughter Kristin McKain; and his daughter-in-law Ramona Metcalf. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Metcalf; his children, Robert Metcalf (Bonnie) of Sullivan, Mike Metcalf (Verna) of Sullivan, Rita McKain (Brad) of Terre Haute and Terri Gadberry (Jim) of Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Julie Wagers (Todd), Jennifer Rupprecht (Travis), Katie Ketterer (Brian), Hollie Metcalf, Kaylan DuPre (Matt), Sarah Litz (Brandon), J. R. McKain (Elizabeth), Jaime Wilson (J. D.), Kacie Brooks (Tim), Taylor Woodard (Matt) and Delaney Hennecke (Logan). He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
