He is survived by: his children, Paula Jo "PJ" Mathews (Sam) of Waco, TX, Shaun Whaley and Chad Whaley of Bloomington, IN; his close friend Judy Fessant; his grandchildren, Ashton Whaley (Amber), Kory Whaley of Anderson, IN, Elijah Collier of Spencer, IN and Savannah June Whaley of Columbia, SC; and his siblings, Darold Whaley (Vivian), Bob Whaley (Alice), Sue Watkins (Bob), Joe "Dude" Whaley, Jim Whaley (Carol), Helen Sims (Phil), Martha "Marty" Mathews (John), Donnie Eugene Whaley (Jeri), Darlene Keller (Tony) and Ramona Peoples. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
