He was predeceased by: his parents, George B. Franklin and Leafie Franklin (Thacker); his wife Doris C. Franklin (Withem); his daughter Leafie Karen Chambers; his son-in-law Wayne Chambers; his grandson Jason Franklin; and his siblings, George Franklin, James Franklin, Rhoda Huber, Lorene Keep, Peggy Snapp and Shirley Herndon.
He is survived by: his children, Rex Franklin (Donna), Mark Franklin (Robin), James "Jim" Franklin, Cathy Stewart (Roger), Carol Stephenson (Russell) and Marylee Franklin; and his brother Morris Franklin. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three great-great-granchildren.
Contributions may be made to the I.U. Hospice House in Bloomington, through the funeral home.
