He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Burns Sr. and Merschel Burns (Gross); his spouse Mickey A. Burns (Self); and his siblings, Jean, Maggie, Doris, Kay, Donnie, Ronnie and Doug.
He is survived by: his sons, Russell Allen Burns of Scottsburg, Indiana and Gary Burns of Scottsburg, Indiana; his sisters, Linda Sue Hays (Gary) of Marysville and Carol Molina (Bert) of Montgomery, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Steven, Brad, Derek Burns, Tiffany Martyn, Michael Rice and Kimberly Stevenson (Bryan). He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
