He was predeceased by: his parents, Mearl E. Berna and Anna Berna (Parks); and his brother-in-law Jeff Deaton. He is survived by: his daughters, Kerri Lynn Earl of Scottsburg and Lisa Marie Marcelle (David) of Madison, Indiana; his siblings, Larry A. Berna (Lynn) of New Carlisle, Andrew F. Berna of Scottsburg, Indiana, Mary E. Jones of Scottsburg, Indiana, Florence I. Burton (Bill) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Karen A. Deaton of Scottsburg, Indiana; his grandchildren, Gracie Earl, Jessica Berna, Trinton, Courtney Davis and Lucy Marcelle; and his great grandchildren, Karsyn Schrink and Tatum Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed.
