He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Dewey and Gertrude Elinor Pemberton (Nolan); his former wife Joyce Lee McMahan of Houston; his son John McMahan Pemberton; and his stepsons, Mark Rodriguez and James Rodriguez.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley I. Pemberton; his children, James Andrew Pemberton (Pam), Paul Arnold Pemberton, Thomas Orrin Pemberton and Sarah Pemberton; and his stepchildren, Donald Smith, Ruby Troglen, Linda Rodriguez and Kara Graham. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
