He was predeceased by: his mother Lessie Harrison Johnson; and his siblings, Ivon, Vivon, Prize, Earl, Avus, Jurlet and Rebecca.
He is survived by: his father James Johnson; his wife Sarah Johnson; his sons, Alan Johnson of Indianapolis and James K. Johnson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; his stepchildren, Amy Williams (Jim) of Greenwood and Robert Wales (Heidi) of Hagerstown, Indiana; his daughter-in-law Carrie Johnson of Westfield, Indiana; his grandchildren, Emma Butler (Nick), Sam Johnson, Hannah Snyder (Andy), Beau Wales, Jackson Williams and Molly Williams; and his siblings, Ralph Johnson (Phyllis) of Richmond, Indiana and Vada Fulton of Florida. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
