She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Francis and Gertrude Fettig McCarthy; her husband James; her son Mark D. Mays; her grandson Kenton Mays; her daughter-in-law Peggy Mays; and her siblings, Agnes Eileen McCarthy, Mildred Brunk, Charles and Tom McCarty.
She is survived by: her children, James L. Mays (Lucy) of Fairfax, Virginia, Stephen Mays of Oxford, Suanna M. Ponder (Mike) of Richmond and Joseph Mays of Louisville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
