It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Ruth McDermott of Richmond, Indiana, born in Vincennes, Indiana, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Fisher and Doris Neva Fisher; her sister Rose Marie Christie (Ruth); her son Patrick Kevin McDermott; and her son-in-law Ted Anthony Parker.
She is survived by: her husband Glenn Wilson McDermott; and her children, Angie Parker, Michael McDermott (Kim), Julie Marcum (Tim) and Kelley McDermott (Jenny).
In remembrance of Ruth's life, her family asks that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to Covenant House to provide safe housing for young people experiencing homelessness.
